Dark clouds bleeding shards of white
Each one different, each alike
There is no sky, not in sight
One of four, with her own rights
Silent, bleached, crystalline flakes
Raindrops morph through flowing chutes
Their muffled words not meant to hear
Frozen, drifting, whispering
Falling to their journey's end
Covering all
Coveting all
Changing all
Reminding all
Altering all
Enveloping all
Her omnipotence dictates all
Nurturing streams and earthly needs
Silence as she tends her deeds
Awakening slaps of deadly cold
Stunning beauty to behold
Gripping life, embracing death
Natural selection on her breath
Seeking continuance, some succumb
Survival tenuous in life's best run
A reminder of how weak we are
A reminder of just who we are
Sunlight breaks, her time is gone
The perpetual continues on
