American Holocaust

Broken shards of darkened gloom
Lives that were, born to doom
First Native thoughts of fleeting worlds
Break forth beneath clouded pearls

Manifest destiny
The greed of man truthfully
Death in morning's biting frost
An American holocaust

Imprisoned Images

I see that face, and it see's me
We watch each other carefully
I see his left and he my right
Meticulous inspection, fluorescent light

Miming moves it seems
Clutching to my every scheme
Matching me so perfectly
Not missing a single opportunity

Scratching my right, he his left
Each movement of his so cleverly deft
And if I try to pull the rug
He matches me, oh so smug

I wonder, if he had a reality
What would be his thoughts of me
And with my in depth study
I think of him with only pity

Now it's time to end this study
My thoughts on him, reflections foggy
With renewed focus to the day
I laid down my brush, quietly walked away

The Black and The White

One arrives
One moves on
A new set of eyes
Another one's dawn
One's new life
Another's new world
One faces strife
The other unfurled
We come to life
We pass it by
Feeling time is rife
Yet the wink of an eye
When one visits
One's deeds will mount
When one succumbs
The love will count
